Playground was founded to address the growing community of bilingual families in Europe as well as the growing interest of learning English across Europe. There are over 6 million people living in Europe who speak Arabic according to Industry Arabic. To address the growing community of Arabic speaking kids Playground has started to roll out shows in Arabic. During December 2022 the service will premiere the lovely and playful Smurfs in Arabic.
We have spent some time trying to find the right shows in Arabic for Playground and are happy that we were able to have the Smurfs as one of our leading shows, says Daniel Nordberg, CEO & Founder of Playground TV. The trick with building a successful multilingual service is that the more viewers we get the more shows we can get and we hope that with the Smurfs and a handful Arabic languages cartoons we will be able to attract Arabic speaking kids to our service.
Playground TV is available as a TV Channel on LG TVs and on the PLEX Service in the kids’ section and it can be downloaded as an on-demand app on the app stores. Playground currently features over 180 different cartoons in 9 different languages covering over 15.000 episodes.
